began as a trio at The Point nightclub in Little 5 Points, Atlanta, Georgia. Leader and front man , Tommy Dean has brought the band to it’s current 8 piece format featuring horn driven arrangements of swing classics, roots of rock n’ roll, funk and the occasional eclectic surprise. The League has performed for many corporate events often providing cocktail and dinner music sets before their dance shows. The band has an extremely high level of musicianship. They are experts in pit band style award show backup. The League is a much sought after choice for wedding receptions of discerning clients who are not interested in a traditional “wedding band”. Their repertoire is a carefully chosen collection of timeless classics arranged with the dancer in mind.
Lead vocalist, Tommy Dean is a unique stylist with a soulful delivery and a keen ear for great overlooked musical jewels. The League puts the emphasis on great tunes and exciting musicianship. They have shared the stage with Ray Charles, Delbert McClinton, Koko Taylor, Chicago, the Nighthawks, the Royal Crown Revue, Earth Wind & Fire, and NRBQ. The band's opening music for Jr. Walker's concert so inspired the sax legend that he sat in on the League's set before he headlined the show. This is a group of musicians that are serious about showing every audience a good time. Other artists instantly recognize their extraordinary ability and talent.
